The solidarity gastronomic action "Save The Taste" arrives in Argentina and will benefit about 50 restaurants in the Federal Capital.

The gastronomic industry, globally and locally, is experiencing its most difficult days. The onslaught of the coronavirus has hit the tourism sector very hard and, as a consequence, the culinary market, one of its most relevant drivers.

However, the reconversion of the local gastronomic circuit has already begun. To combat the crisis affecting the sector, new ideas and solutions are emerging that are committed to the solidarity, creativity, and resilience of the sector. Thus, the solidarity gastronomic action “Save The Taste” (Save The Taste) was born, an initiative organized by the online tourism platform My Guide in collaboration with Visa, who, through their website, are dedicated to disseminating and publicizing gastronomic proposals from various restaurants in Argentina and Latin America.

The “Save The Taste” campaign, which also has the collaboration of Rappi, seeks to promote the gastronomic concept known as the delivery menu, a gourmet experience that allows food to be received and enjoyed in the comfort of home.

In this way, “all lovers of good food who visit the website www.savethetaste.com.ar and also through the Rappi Argentina application, will be able to buy various menu alternatives for a value of 1000 pesos, in the surrounding areas. of the 50 restaurants that participate in this activity, with which they will be supporting the gastronomic industry to continue standing ”, explains Alexander De Mondey, Commercial Director of My Guide for Latin America.

In turn, diners will have the option to vote for the best "delivery menu" and the restaurant that has received the most votes will receive a standing award for their activity.

In turn, among the diners who make donations of between $ 100, $ 200 or $ 500 will participate in a raffle for a prize of 50,000 pesos, money that contributes in a certain way to return the solidarity present in each donation.

Gastronomy is and has always been a fundamental piece in the cultural heritage of all countries, for the same reason today more than ever it is very important to be able to help restaurants to get ahead and also safeguard the work and great work that their suppliers do, small producers and all those who are after this industry.

“The kitchen is a sensory and cultural experience that brings us all together equally since it appeals to instances where we share our experiences, customs, and lifestyles at the same table. For this reason, we appeal and make a call to all lovers of gastronomy to take part in this solidarity action and not to let their favorite restaurants close their doors forever ”, concludes Alexander De Mondey.
